Little did I know when I first created a twitter account based on six Indycar fans based in the UK taking on twitter what would come in the next twelve months.
The original concept was for it to be somewhere where another could write their thoughts and opinions about Indycar, maybe a forum and some polls thrown in for good measure.
But through trial, error and a bit of good fortune we have managed to put together blogs for those looking for a place to write, mostly those for the first time.
Race reviews which have been something I wasn't planning on doing until Sky did not take up the contract for the 2013 season resulting in many people missing out on the races, which have taken on the form of lap-by-lap to on-site reviews to Japanese poetry.
A fantasy league which Robin has looked after this year and hopefully into the future, and proof that blind guessing gets you a long way (to the top)!
Competitions with plenty of signed Indycar prizes that have reached from Edinburgh to Lands End.
A variety of travel guides for anyone looking for some helpful hints and tips when planning a trip to the races.
A twitter based follow # each Wednesday (with a new website being launched in the coming days), plus other areas worth checking out along the way, all accessible through the menu to the left of the page
So to the thank yous...
A couple early stand outs, Dave, Jason, Matthew, Rachael and Robin, who this would never have seen the light of day without. Liza, formerly of Indycar Nation, for badgering me each race weekend to blog about my road trips these past couple years, well I got their eventually! Patsy for collecting so many prizes and shipping them over for our competitions. Monica from many places, but in particular 242MPH for arranging a great deal for the Official Indycar Calender to be sold through the website last autumn, which was greatly received on these shores. Keith and Pippa for their multitude of Re-Tweets helping get the website out their to Indycar fans and their followers. And finally, everyone who has put finger to keyboard these past twelve months in whatever form they have contributed, you can find them here.
So to the next twelve and beyond. More blogs, new race reviews and contributors, competitions, interviews, and more. I am always looking for contributors from this side of the Atlantic so please get in touch and see what we can do to get you involved.
A little further down the line, there are around a dozen of us at the moment who are looking to make the trip to the Indy 500 in 2016 for the 100th race, if this is something you are interested in give me a shout and will see what we can arrange going forward.
So the the 80,000 of you who have visited the website, thank you for your continued support.
Adrian
